Girls Varsity Softball · Lady Bucs Claim Another Win

Four hits from Cass Spears paved the way to victory for the Lady Bucs over Columbia Academy 13-3 on Tuesday. Spears singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fifth.

BG Lady Bucs pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, Anna Claire Crowe singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Kylee Burris singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Spears singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Madelyn Burch led things off in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Bucs. She allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out 11.

Maggie Wilks was in the circle for Columbia Academy. She went five innings allowing 13 runs on 12 hits and striking out one. Bailey Buckley threw one-third of an inning in relief.

The Lady Bucs collected 13 hits. Spears, Burris, and Crowe each had multiple hits for Bowling Green. Spears went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead BG in hits. BG tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Spears led the way with two.
